I’ve gotta be me. What else can I be but what I am. He just wanted to be free doing what he loves to do in life. Whatever that was!

A dream of life that not only keeps him alive but strives for excellence, passion, excitement, and authenticity! He brought joy and fun to the world. But to some others…that was not the case. His choices brought death threats and hate to him. It was his choices that were “outside the norm” for black people to make back then, no walk in the park.

He did what he loved to do most and it brought him to hang out with people like Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. His life was like a movie! If he never put himself out there, went through those dark times growing Up, jumping, leaning, speaking into existence, his fullest expression…who knows what would had happened to him, or even the ripple effects of what others may not have had done with their lives.

Sammy did what he thought and felt was right. He stood by his words, beliefs, and actions. He paved the way for many other people to be different.

What will it take for you to stand up in your full authenticity? Do you still care what people may think about you? Do you think you can’t do it because of the fear or not being good enough?

Feeling all the feels, both good and bad, is completely valid. But knowing this, will better assist you to move forward, if you just keep taking one step at a time. There are people who embrace their insecurities and shine the light on them for the world to see. A true superpower to embrace. Confidence is built by taking the inspired action and not having a predestined outcome. You get it by putting yourself out there and doing it with your own excitement, energy, love, and enthusiasm!

You have zero excuses to be the best you can be. People may hate, may not even care but don’t forget about the people who do and will love you, for just you being you all the time!
